Architect of Record: Perez, APC
Project Involvement: Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Consultant Coordination, Sustainability Coordinator.
Through a single purpose LLC, Perez acquired approximately 13.25 acres of the former Holy Cross High School Campus. The redevelopment program envisions a phased, mixed-use development with office, retail, and multifamily residential. The renovation of the original administration building combines the historic sensitivity necessary when restoring a historic landmark with the forward-thinking approach mandated by the Living Building Challenge, guaranteeing this campus to be the most sustainable in New Orleans to date.
The master planned community will offer spectacular views of the Mississippi River and Downtown New Orleans. Centered in the parcel is a grove of majestic oak trees that will be preserved and become a focal point for community gatherings. The Holy Cross school site possesses unique characteristics. Its history, use, architecture, and sheer size of the parcel distinguish it from other parts of the Holy Cross neighborhood.
